Ankle Sprains- How to prevent, rehabilitate and more
Ankle sprains are one of the most common injuries in sport around the world, especially for indoor sports and court sports.
It is estimated that up to 30% of sporting injuries are lateral ankle sprains and in the USA alone, it is estimated 23,000 people seek medical advice for an ankle sprain, EACH DAY.
Ankle sprains are notoriously under-treated and can cause ongoing pain, instability, stiffness, weakness and can lead to a variety of common problems, including arthritis.
After treating ankle sprains clinically for almost 20 years, I realised there was not a clear and definitive, evidence based guide to help the client and/or clinician guide them back to activity or sport. Coming soon is the culmination of a lifetime of work and research into a science based guide to recovering from an ankle sprain.
Designed to be used by the individual and clinician alike, this will assist in ensuring ankle sprains are properly rehabilitated - hopefully leading to less chronic ankle instability, less lost productivity in work and sport, more active populations, less arthritis and cost to the healthcare systems and MOST IMPORTANTLY....a better quality of life for everyone.
Stay tuned....released in early 2020.
